Support - NBA Stock Exchange |
Do I have to join a league? No. Once you create a team, you are automatically included in the global rankings. But the beauty of the NBA Stock Exchange is the ability to enter the same team into multiple leagues. Entering into private and public leagues increases the fun and competition for everyone. Can I compete with my friends in a private league?Yes. Competition among friends is at the heart of fantasy Basketball. You, or one of your friends, will need to create a private league from the 'My Leagues' page. Just enter a name and password. You can enter email addresses and let the NBA Stock Exchange take care of the recruitment or you can simply give your friends the league ID and the league password. There are no limits to the number of managers you allow; it's completely up to you. Can I join more than one league?Yes. As a standard the NBA Stock Exchange manager you are permitted to join any combination of 10 private and public leagues, including the global rankings. What's the difference between a Public and a Private league?Public leagues are created by the NBA Stock Exchange and are available to all managers. You can search through a list of all public leagues on the 'My Leagues' page. Private leagues are password protected so you must invite your friends and give them the password for them to join. For both public and private leagues you have the ability to invite whomever you choose by entering their email address or username. Invitations to leagues will appear on the 'My Leagues' page. What's the largest size for Public and Private leagues?Unlimited. Unlike traditional fantasy formats, the NBA Stock Exchange leagues can be any size. You can enter your team into a public league with over 1000 mangers while also competing in a league with 10 of your friends. Can I trade directly with another manager in one of my leagues? No. All player movement must go through the trading floor. That's the beauty of the NBA Stock Exchange you don't need to find someone to haggle over players. With the trading floor you can sell any player you want virtually whenever you want and buy any player that you can afford. Can another manager in one of my leagues own the same player as me?Certainly. In fact, this will probably be the case as a single player is available once for roughly every twelve NBA Stock Exchange managers. This means that a player like Lebron James could be on multiple teams in your private league while on none in others. This prevents one team from dominating an individual league based on one super player. Now every manager has the same chance to benefit from traditional fantasy studs like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett. Can I join or leave a league at any time?Unfortunately, no. Most leagues will be closed to membership changes after the second week of the regular season. Leagues that start mid-season will be closed to membership changes the night before the league start date. Leagues are the most fun if you know who you're competing against and if they don't have a revolving door that allows teams to drop in and out at any time. This is also done to prevent managers from shopping around for leagues in hopes of winning in an 'easier' one. Can I create a private league at any time?Certainly. You may create a private league at any time subject to the restriction on the number of leagues you may join. The start date for accumulating points must be after the current game week. What is a league commissioner and what tools does a commissioner have to manage a league?Users who create private leagues are the commissioners for their leagues. Instead of the standard my leagues page for their league, commissioners will see the following functions when they view their private league:
I created a team a few weeks after the season started. Can I still join leagues?Yes. You can also create or join a private league which as a start date after you created your team. What are adjusted league standings and adjusted points?Adjusted leagues standings show how each team ranks based on how they would be performing if they were on an even pace for position usage. For example, one team might have 1000 points with a position usage of 50/82 (+5) while another team might have 1000 points with a position usage of 40/82 (-5). In this scenario, the second team clearly has the advantage, given that he can easily to make up the games in the second half of the season. Since the first team has used up more of their position allowance they will have a lower adjusted rank than the second team which is below their position allowance. If both teams were on an even pace they would have played 45 games each. Since the first team is averaging 20 points per game, its adjusted-points is 20 x 45 or 900 points. The second team is averaging 25 points per game, its adjusted-points is 25 x 45 or 1125 points. The adjusted points and standings are only a gauge for how teams are doing relative to each other. At the end of the season, each team's final point tally and rank will determine who will be crowned the world's best fantasy basketball manager.
